Well, we took a three month break… or I did. I think it was necessary since I recently discovered moving and completely furnishing an apartment, though fun(!), is the most stressful thing ever. I’ve never been good at time management or balancing my priorities, so the blog ultimately suffered for a sec there. I hope you can forgive me.
ANYWAY, back to the fun stuff – LIKE HALLOWEEN IS HERE?! I am over the moooon happy about being able to finally wear all black, watch scary movies, listen to nothing but my halloween playlist and go to scary themed events. It’s when I literally come ALIVE.
Yesterday, Vanessa filmed a Hocus Pocus twenty-fifth anniversary special, for Freeform, at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and I thought it was the perfect time for posting again! I wanted a fun stylized short video that was slightly dark and eerie, but still true to my wild and ridiculous nature. Eric and I ran around taking photos, laughing and celebrating the entire time!
I’ve grown so fond of cemeteries and I think they’re a beautiful place. I found myself wondering what the peoples stories were, who were born in the 1800’s or got to live through the prime of the roaring twenties. I often believe I was born in the wrong era. I would’ve loved to be a queen in the 1800’s, or a jazz singer in the twenties. I would be more than happy living through Woodstock and living my best hippie life! But! IF that were the case, I wouldn’t have met Eric or have Ruby, and that’d be the saddest tragedy of all…. ~ gross ~ … moving on!
If you ever have time to check out the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, it’s a must. They do movie screenings as well through a company called Cinespia and you literally have a picnic on the grass while watching movies and eating food truck food. What more could you possibly want?! Also, be sure to watch the Hocus Pocus Halloween Bash on Freeform, October 20th to watch Vanessa live her life as the lil Halloween princess she is – it’s so worth it.
As for outfit, I decided to wear my trusty beret (truthfully just to hide the fact I was wearing a wig, could you tell?) with my over the knee Stuart Weitzman boots. They are the most comfortable boot to wear this time of year and not to mention they’re literally to die for. I had an old Reformation slip dress I never wear so I decided I’d throw this little fishnet top over it to make it more festive ’tis the season. My laminate from the event kept getting in the way for the videos but what can a girl do?
Hope you enjoy the silly little video and let me know what time period you think you truly belong in the comments below!
